It finally feels like winter in Denver! Did everyone survive the arctic blast we experienced yesterday? Hopefully your garage door cooperated in the freezing temperatures.
Here are a few tips for what to do if you have any trouble with your garage door in cold weather:
GARAGE DOOR
Doors can freeze to the ground as the temperature drops. If your door will not open and it is freezing outside, lift the door manually. If it releases suddenly then check and see if there is any frozen water where the door seals. If the door moves freely after the initial break away, then that is what it was. Doors should be serviced professionally every year. Call us with any garage door concerns that you may have; we want to help.
GARAGE DOOR OPENER
Older garage door openers and openers with lower horsepower ratings will act up in cold weather. If you’re unsure of what your opener’s horsepower rating is, or would like to replace your outdated opener, contact us.
